Sweeping bands of violet, turquoise, and gold create a shimmering backdrop for the intricate, metallic design at the heart of Metal of the Tribe. Created by applying modeling paste through a stencil over a painted background, the raised central motif was finished with gilding paste and metallic leafing material. Curling shapes, geometric patterns, and detailed linework give the piece the appearance of an ancient metalwork artifact. The contrast between the softly flowing background and the dimensional, reflective design creates depth and movement, while the metallic surfaces catch the light from different angles.
