Color, geometry, and fluid movement collide in Boxing. The piece began with a fluid acrylic background, then structured bands and shapes were layered over it while allowing portions of the original pour to remain visible. Inspired by inset designs on ceramics, the painting plays with the tension between an organic, unpredictable foundation and the deliberate structure imposed over it.
